If you are looking for a higher quality piece, you can easily spend between $25 and $100 to get “scientific” or “lab-quality” glass. For those seeking a truly unique pipe that is a true work of art, expect to spend upwards of several hundred dollars.
Pipe Style
Pipes come in many different colors, shapes, and styles. The most common you will see is the spoon-shaped pipe. This is a classic pipe design and great for beginners with its easy-to-use bowl design. A Sherlock pipe is similar but features a slightly different construction that mimics the look of Sherlock Holmes’ tobacco pipe. A chillum is a straight pipe with a hole on one end and a small bowl on the other. Herb is packed into one end and inhalation takes place on the other. This is a very simple and primitive device for smoking. Lastly, a bubbler is much like a slightly larger Sherlock pipe that houses water inside to filter the smoke, allowing for a smoother hit.
